How I got into VFX
The first real break I got within the VFX industry was working on the 'Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian' at MPC. This fuelled my ambition to have a long and enjoyable career in VFX.
After leaving MPC I worked on remote web and VFX jobs whilst setting up ICM Studios. At ICM Studios I was able to continue to develop my skills and helped Michael Cawood complete his short animation 'Devils Angels and Dating'.
I have also had the pleasure of working for Ragdoll Productions as a Maya Generalist on 'The Adventures of Abney and Teal' as well as a music video for Chris Curtis at Passion, London.
I once again returned to MPC in late 2013 working as a Layout TD on two great feature films; Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy' and Disney's 'Maleficent' - great fun!
My Latest projects at ICM Studios include completed FX and visulisation work for Megan and Isacc Post/Spool, corporate animation for EasyJet partnering with SUPERBLIMP, VFX for 'A Touch of Cloth', and completing 16 VFX shots for the feature film 'Nightmare Hunters', and visualisation for interior designers in Sussex
I am currently working with Superblimp, Second Home Studios and on my personal project Apeps Dawn: Fallen Meteor.
My freelance VFX rates are as followed:
Day on-site £320.00 | Week Onsite £1600.00 (5 days)
Hardware and Software would need to be provided at the location.
Day Remote £250.00 | Week Remote £1250.00 (5 days)
Rendering: charged out on an hourly rate of £0.66 per core hour(30 cores = £19.80/hour) depending on the scope of the project.-

- Renderman Studio and Renderman for Maya/Houdini(x5)scaleable using Zync Render or a bespoke Google Cloud/AWS solution
- Fracture-FX for Maya(x2)
- Unreal Engine
- ZBrush
- PFMatchit
- Shotgun, RV, RVIO
- Adobe Suite(After Effects, Speedgrade, Premiere, Photoshop, etc.)
The review tools that I use are RV, Quicktime, and Framecycler(now Speedgrade) and Shotgun. I also provide clients with a custom built daily system(if needed) - get in touch to find out more.
